Snowshoe Trails The
Blaine County Recreation District gives you a lot of opportunities to
enjoy snowshoeing – an activity that’s fun, easy, and great for the
whole family!
On the North Valley Trails,
there are 30km (18 miles) of marked, packed trails specifically for
snowshoeing. Those trails can be accessed at North Fork Loop, Billy’s
Bridge, and Galena Lodge. Please have a North Valley Trails season pass
or pay a daily $5 fee at the trailhead or Galena when you use these
trails. You can also get a snowshoe pass at Backwoods, Elephant's Perch, Sturtevants or the SNRA.
The Wood River Trails are 37km (22 miles) of multi-use, non-motorized trails that are excellent for snowshoeing.
Maps of all snowshoe trails are available to view and print on this web site under the winter trails section; you can also get maps at BCRD’s office or have them mailed to you.
Dogs are allowed FREE on all snowshoe trails, provided they comply with the
county leash law (must be on leash or, if not on leash, within ten feet
of their owner and under voice control).
Snowshoe rentals are available at Galena Lodge and at local retailers.
