1st Annual Sun Valley Rhythm & Ride Festival
"A Festival Celebration of Bicycle Culture and Music in the Mountains!"  Mark your calendar for a new Sun Valley event June 23-27. Ketchum to Alturas Lake...and back

START:  8 am, Available until 9 am, COURSE OPEN UNTIL 5 PM

START LOCATION:  Elephant's Perch in Ketchum

REGISTRATION:  ONLINE, IN PERSON AT ELEPHANT'S PERCH OR BY MAIL- SEE LINKS TO RIGHT 
               100-MILE:  $75
                 50-MILE:  $65
                DAY OF REGISTRATION:  ADD $10 TO ENTRY FEE

PACKET PICK UP/REGISTRATION:  FRI JUNE 25, 3-6PM ELEPHANT’S PERCH, KETCHUM

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  SEE LINK TO COURSE MAP AT RIGHT. START AT ELEPHANT'S PERCH, GO WEST  ON SUN VALLEY RD TO HWY 75.  GO SOUTH ON HWY 75 TO ELKHORN ROAD. GO EAST ON ELKHORN RD, LOOP THROUGH ELKHORN & SUN VALLEY.  GO LEFT AT DOLLAR RD, FOLLOW TO LIGHT, GO THROUGH LIGHT AND OVER HILL TO HWY 75.  GO NORTH ON HWY 75.  50-MILE TOUR – TURN AROUND AT GALENA LODGE.  100-MILE TOUR - RIDE OVER GALENA SUMMIT.  LEFT ONTO ALTURAS LAKE RD TO TURN AROUND ON THE BEACH AT ALTURAS LAKE (PICNIC B- 2.6 MI WEST OF HWY 75).  FINISH AT THE SUN VALLEY FESTIVAL FIELD ON SUN VALLEY RD. COURSE MAP PROVIDED AT START

KING/QUEEN OF THE HILL COMPETITION: The King & Queen of the Mountain competition will recognize the fastest male and female riders on the 6-mile, 1,355 foot climb on the south side of Galena Summit. Individual electronic timing will be supplied at no extra charge for all ride participants if they choose to participate.  The King & Queen will be memorialized on a perpetual trophy to remain on display at Galena Lodge.
 
AID STATIONS:  EQUIPPED WITH BATHROOMS, WATER & SNACKS.  MINIMAL TECH SUPPORT WILL BE AVAILABLE AT AID STATIONS & TURNAROUNDS.  SAG WAGONS WILL BE MONITORING COURSE, BUT PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR BIKE.  BRING THE BASICS: Spare tube, Patch kit, Pump, Tire irons, Tools, Water bottles
***LUNCH PROVIDED AT GALENA LODGE FOR 50 MILERS AND AT ALTURAS TURNAROUND FOR 100 MILERS

• 15 mile:  BAKER CREEK PARKING AREA 
• 25 mile:  GALENA LODGE (TURNAROUND FOR 50 MI TOUR)
• 50 mile:  ALTURAS LAKE

CELL PHONES GENERALLY DO NOT GET SERVICE EXCEPT IN KETCHUM & NORTH UP TO SNRA PARKING LOT IF YOU ARE LUCKY. 

SAFETY / RULES OF THE ROAD
-This is not a race and there is no winner (unless you choose to participate in the King/Queen of the Hill climb)
-ANSI/Snell-approved helmets must be worn at all time during the ride
-All riders must carry a driver’s license or other form of ID.
-All riders are responsible for the safety and condition of your bicycle and equipment
-Please be courteous to local drivers and respectful of traffic
-Bicyclists must obey all Idaho Vehicle code laws
-Ride NO MORE THAN TWO ABREAST and stay right
-When passing another cyclist announce “on your left” to all riders being passed.
