Cross-Country Ski Lessons
 You can take cross-country ski lessons from the Blaine County
Recreation District. Lessons for all ability levels are offered at
Galena Lodge and Quigley Nordic. Classes can be group sessions or
private one on one time with the instructor.

Meet the BCRD Nordic Ski Instructors
EJ Harpham With
over 30 years of Nordic skiing, EJ brings experience and an overall
understanding of the sport to the Blaine County Recreation District XC
Ski Classes. Her background includes overall World Loppett and
national titles and skiing for the Fischer/Salomon Team and Team
Rossignol. EJ enjoys the opportunity to share her love of the sport
with anyone who wants to put on a pair of skis and enjoys both Classic
and Skating techniques. When not out on the trails, she works
full-time in her business PacificTilescapes.com as a tile mural artist and ceramicist. Add
to that, first ascents of multiple peaks in South America working as an
high-altitude guide, ultra-marathon running and biking, Iron-Man
competitions and Cat.2 road bike racing.

Nordic skiing enthusiast and Citizen racer since 1985, she is a Team
Rossignol "Local Hero" since 1994, Katharine began coaching &
teaching in December 2001, both the Classic & Skating techniques.
Katharine is a multi-faceted & talented artist with a prosperous
business titled Creative Paint Finishes. She is passionate of many
outdoor sports: running, hiking, biking, water-skiing, camping & snowboarding.
Jim Santa Growing up in northern Minnesota before migrating west after graduation from the U of M Duluth. Jim has been involved in skiing and the ski industry from a young age. As a member of Rossignol's ambassador program, Jim is an avid nordic racer and has competed and earned age class medals at Master Nat'ls. and American Marathon Series events. He states his biggest highlight as a week of racing in the World Masters event in 2008. In the summer months he is an avid cyclist and attends the occassional mountain bike race. Jim also works full time for Sturtevants in addition to teaching and guiding fly fishing.

Photography are my favorite ways to have fun, and I love spending time
with my children and friends. I love teaching people to ski so they can
get out and enjoy winter!" * Born in S.V., Id. * Alpine Ski Racer through teen years, in U.S. and Europe, then during College at Central Oregon. * Taught x-country for Leif Odmark at S.V. Nordic * Coached for SVSEF Development Team * Created the program and taught Telemark for BCRD under Mary Austin Crofts, then for SV Nordic. * PSIA Certified Alpine Instructor for SV Ski School * Created and Administered an outdoor ski program for Youth at Risk. * Backcountry Mountaineering Guide for SV Trekking presently and for past 18 years . * PSIA Certified Nordic Ski Instructor for Quigley Nordic for last 3 years
Ivana Radlova Ivana came to ski and study in the US after an injury ended her Czechoslovak National team experience (she skied in the 1988 Olympics in Calgary) almost 20 years ago. She skied for the University of New Mexico in ABQ and won the 1993 NCAA championship. She has over 25 years of xc ski experience including racing, coaching and teaching wide range of skiers from little kids to well seasoned masters, beginners to elite athletes. This is going to be her second winter in the Wood river valley and she is very excited to ski and share her passion for the sport. Ivana is also a massage therapist and a personal trainer. She is a proud mom of two little boys (Sebastian 7 and Mathias 4), two dogs, a huge cat and two chickens.
